style of the week

I think it will be fun to post the latest style that I am loving each week & I think many of you will enjoy it! Check it out below and don't forget to enter my free custom garment contest posted in the previous journal!

This week I am really into the "american apparel" look with lots of accessories. Key colors: highlighter yellow and black. Fashion Focus: shiny textures.

I actually had a pretty similar outfit on yesterday and I loved it!

sheer racerback tank in bright yellow @ target $8.00
(color looks best on those of us with darker hair...if you have lighter hair try a bright orchid color that will compliment your complexion!)

shiny metallic ruched tube bra @ american apparel $14.00
(everyone has to have one of these if you already don't! great for layering under over-sized tanks like the one pictured above)

"satin" leggings...I have a pair from H&M and they were like less than $15.00
(much better texture than the "glossy/wet" look and even better than the standard black cotton legging...its amazing how a little change in texture and fabric can give something a different look!)

patent black mary jane platform pump by wild diva @ $40.00
(i have these exact same ones! and they are surprisingly comfortable and made really well for how low the price is. looks best with tights or leggings.)

aviator sunglasses. the ones pictured are from ray-ban @ $130.00 but there are a ton of this style of glasses everywhere for even cheaper if you hunt for them.
(I ditched my heart-shaped glasses for these...flattering for almost all face shapes and maybe its just me, but they make you feel like ten times cooler when you wear them)

necklaces @ forever21 under $7.00 each
(layer two long black-toned necklaces over the bright yellow tank. the shiny metallic bra that peeks out from underneath contrasts nicely against the yellow and makes the necklaces pop.)

bangles @ forever21 under $6.00 each
(over-accessorize & mix up silver and gold bangles for the finishing touch on your outfit)

Large black patent tote w/ bow. SPLURGE: @ Valentino $1,195.00
(i strongly frown on leather but regardless, this bag is still drop dead gorgeous. maybe i will never have the exact same one but take my word I am on the hunt for a similar patent tote not made from leather! note that the metallic shine in the patent compliments the texture tones in the entire outfit above quite nicely.)

CUTE OUTFIT! what do you all think? if this isn't something you would typically wear, experiment with your style a bit and give it a try!

i dont like boys, i like cars & money

Not really.
Well, Kind of...
Maybe a little.

Hi Buzzbees
Today, as well as yesterday, I did not accomplish anything. I think I just work too hard some days that the days after that I refuse to do anything except sit around. I have superglue on my fingers right now as I type this because I am trying to figure out how to put on a lollipop applique to my princess lolly dress without having to sew it and the glue idea failed so I am probably going to end up sewing it. hmph, la storia della mia vita.

Im glad I got a lot of good responses on my last blog, its nice to know that people pay attention to your opinions and to me, its awesome bringing attention to my opinions =P

ANYWAYS
I thought Id share with everyone some things that I have been obsessing over lately and I cannot wait to have them!
Putting them on my shopping list ASAP...

BCBGMaxAzria Spring Runway 2009 "DIVA" shoe from my work ^^^
I had to scan the catalog because I cant find these shoes available anywhere online?
I FEEL SO DAMN HOT WHEN I WEAR THESE HAHAHA. its funny how a pair of shoes can do that to you...I did not like them when we first got them in but ever since then I cannot stop thinking about them and can't wait to take home my very own pair next week :P

Kitschy Kiss by Betseyville dome tote...I must have this!! I didn't like any of the Betsey Johnson bags I saw when I went shopping yesterday with my mom....but where the hell was this one hiding?! I need it soon.

AA Nylon Tricot high waisted skirt...I don't even think I need to explain how cute this is :) Get on my body now.

BCBGMaxAzria new aviator sunglasses. Everytime I walk into work I stare at these all day and I don't know why I never get them! They look amazing on...and I might just have to get these along with those shoes =P

Thats it for now...straight from my shopaholic heart. My mom always scolds me for always buying new clothes because she says whats the point if I can easily make them but its just not the same mom, its just not the same OKAY.
I have had too much coffee today and now I am way too distracted. Back to pwning the lollipop applique and finally getting it on the dress.
The new Resident Evil tonight @ jons. cant wait to play it!!

Bye!!!

Making others feel good...

I always leave my TV on when I am working on my clothes so I can listen to whatever is on from the other room. Today I left it on the Tyra Show and her topic was obesity in teenagers. On the show were four overweight teenagers from ages 12 to 17 expressing their struggles in everyday life. What literally brought me to tears was when each one of them told us about the bullying they experience and how much the public's perception on them really makes their life hell. These young girls cannot even make any friends because they are pre-judged on their weight...they go through abuse and peers that bully them in person and even online...and their self esteem is completely shot.

I have always considered myself to be a very considerate person and respectful towards everybody and watching this episode really upset me. I am writing this journal because I just wanted to express how people's unkindness towards others is really really not acceptable and it affects people in ways that you can't even imagine. What broke my heart was when one of the girls said that what kills her the most is that her peers and people around her don't realize that there is a human on the inside. That she is a bright person and nobody will give her a chance simply because of her weight. Excuse my language but what the fuck is wrong with people?
It really saddens me that humanity can stoop down so low to bring helpless people down. In many cases, these girls don't ASK to be in the physical situation that they are in. And even if they did, who is anyone to judge? Regardless if someone is overweight, un-attractive, different, or whatever, they still have the right to be treated like human beings. NOBODY is better than ANYBODY when it comes down to situations like this.

Next time you talk badly about someone that has done nothing to you, next time that you catch yourself judging the quiet nerdy girl in your class, or next time you find yourself laughing about the "fat" girl at school because her clothes aren't right, remember that these people have feelings just as anyone else does. Reverse the situation, and imagine how good it feels to be in their shoes. Imagine the anger that they feel inside every single day because people refuse to give them a chance.

Forget what other people say, I say you stand up to what you know is right deep inside of you and make an effort to make those people that are ridiculed and treated differently feel like humans. Stop worrying about being cool and start worrying about whats right. A simple hello, how are you? Or even a brief smile or compliment can change anybodys day around...and you probably don't even realize that sometimes those little acts of kindness towards others means the entire world to them.

It feels so great to feel good about yourself...so pass that feeling on.
